Calling all Volunteers!
Come volunteer for the Big Tent during the Democratic National
Convention! The Alliance for Sustainable Colorado, ProgressNow,
and the Daily Kos are constructing a 9,000 square foot, two story
tent that will host 500 bloggers and members of the new media as
well as nonprofit and community leaders from around the country!
The Big Tent will be a non-partisan, educational event that will
include a diverse range of participants.
This exclusive site is not open to the public and we need all the
help we can get; this is your chance to experience new media at
its finest.
Jobs range from Runner and IT Support, to Food Distribution and
recycling station management, to concierge and credentialing, to VIP
support and ASL Interpreter.

Well, the "Recycling Station Management" mention caught my attention!
I volunteered my availability for the entire week to assist with the Recycle & Compost Efforts.
This allowed the opportunity to work closely with the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado Staff to head up these needs ...

We strived to make this event as Environmentaly Friendly & Responsible as possible,
yet this is not easy when there are many outside influences ...
The final tally of our efforts reflected a
*** 70% diversion of the "waste" from the landfill ***
This was due in large part to the use of Compostable products & Sustainable Practices
* * Overall this was an amazing way to experience the Democratic National Convention! * *
* * Thank You to the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado for this opportunity !!! * *
